Following are notarial services available to you.

Acknowledgements – (A.R.S. § 41-311(1) An acknowledgement is a notarial act in which a notary certifies that a signer, whose identity is proven by satisfactory evidence, voluntarily signs a document for its stated purpose.

Jurats – (A.R.S. § 311(6) A jurat is a notarial act in which the notary certifies that a signer, whose identity is personally known or is proven by satisfactory evidence, has:

  • Made in the notary’s presence a voluntary signature; and has
  • Taken an oath or affirmation vouching for the truthfulness of the signed document.

Copy Certifications – (A.R.S. § 41-311(3) A copy certification is a notarial act in which the notary certifies that a photocopy of an original document was made that is neither a public record nor publicly recordable. The notary must have access to a copy machine. Copy certifications may not be made of the following publicly recordable documents, such as marriage licenses, birth or death certificates, divorce papers, court records, or real estate deeds.

Oaths and Affirmations (A.R.S. § 311(10) During notarizations a notary may be required to give a signer or credible person an oath or affirmation.

Duties of a Notary

A notary public is a person of integrity appointed by the Governor to serve the public as an impartial and unbiased witness. The most common function of the notary is to prevent fraud by witnessing and attesting that a person signing a document is authentic.
